My Favourite Digipak
My favourite digipak is Alleyway's as it has really good quality images and it is really creative and good to look at. They have cleverly done it as the CD is so basic but it looks so effective. I love the cover with the picture of the four band members in it with their names at the bottom as it is such a nice photo of the four of them. The thing they could improve on is maybe making the writing on the lyrics page a font that is a bit more readable but overall I think this is really should and should score high marks.
Real Digipak
This is Grace Starr's final Digipak. We kept the glitter theme throughout the CD and have kept it girly and exactly how we have displayed our star.
More digipak progressions
These are the progressions we have made to the CD and the special thanks page. When I had finished designing the first draft of both of them, Lara and I came to the conclusion that they looked a bit tacky and not very professional, also they did not match the colour scheme of the rest of the digipak, so we decided to change them. I used the glittery background for the CD and the same glittery background to edit over the top of some of the petals. This made them both look more girly and like it is all one digipak.
Making the Album Cover
These are the progression stages of how we made an album cover for Grace Starr. I found an image of glitter on line and I used it to make the back CD Cover for the digipak and we were all really pleased on the result so we decided to improve the front cover even more. We got the CD Cover that we had made and then Lara and I added the glitter into each letter, to make it look more professional and effective.
Progression of digipak
Lara and I decided to improve our digipak front cover by adding the glittery background into the letters from the back of the CD cover into the front CD cover. We decided to do this so that both of them together looks more like a CD cover.
This is what the front cover looked like before:
This is our first draft for our digipak, we have got feedback from the class so we are going to change things and update it so therefore we can improve it. At the moment the digipak does not look like a real CD so we are going to make some updates.

We made a special thanks page to dedicate the CD to friends and family.
We found the problem with this design is that the background colour does not go with the rest of the digipak so we decided to personalise it even more and add some of the glitter.

This is another idea of the photo we had for the inside of our album but we decided that we didn't like it in the end because also the background colour of the image doesnt match the rest of the CD.

This is what our front cover looks like now once we have edited it:
What we did to change it was we added the glittery background inside the words 'In Time'. To do this we drew round all the letters in photoshop and then we layered the background over the top and then positioned them so they were over the top of the normal letters.

Peer Feedback for Digipak First draft
This is the feedback we have been given from our class for our digipak so far . Overall I was pleased with it and I will take all the constructive criticism into account so we can improve it to gain the most marks possible.
Similar CD Covers
These album covers look similar to ours so this is a good thing as it looks more professional. This shows the improvement of our artist and that everything we are designing and making is getting better.
Rough Digipak Drawing design
This is a rough digipak we designed so that we can create our real digipak to look like this. We really like this design so hopefully our real digipak will look very similar to this.
Poster Inspiration
Here are some posters I have been looking at for inspiration for when I make my poster. I have been looking at the way they are designed for some ideas. This has helped me to see the details of the tour dates and how they are set out.
Font ideas for Grace Starr
We started coming up with some ideas for Grace's album cover, we all agreed that we think the font should look as natural as possible so like she has signed it herself. This is so fans could relate to it more and it also looks quite cool and professional.

My personal favourite for the font would be the last one because it looks like neat, ladies handwriting and it is still clear to read even though it looks stylish at the same time.

Grace Starr CD cover design
This is the first Album Cover Lara designed for our artist Grace Starr. The album is called 'In Time'. We liked the way she changed an ordinary photo into four and added different effects onto it for example mirror and added a green and red effect either side to make it look more exciting. As a group we also liked that the album cover name is in the middle of the cover and is bold and clear to see. Grace's face is also just as clear to see still which is why we liked it so much. It will be easily recognised when people go to buy it in the shops.
This is the second Design Lara made for our artist. This one is my personal favourite as it shows off Grace's face more and looks a bit more professional. Sometimes simpler things look more effective and in this situation I think this is the case. I really like that her name is really small next to the name of the album cover as I think this shows that people know who she is from just seeing her face and her name doesnt need to be advertised that much.

Eliza Doolittle is in a similar genre to our artist and the look that we are going for. She is from the electronic pop genre the same as our song and artist. The front cover of her album is very busy with lots going on that draws peoples attention to it. If you saw this on a shelf you are more likely to pick it up as it looks interesting. The album is bright and gets across Eliza's personality.

Like the Ellie Goulding album, Eliza's album includes a pull out lyric sheet. Our artist is aiming towards the same fanbase as Eliza's which is a young female audience. The lyric sheet is fun especially for a younger audience and may encourage them to buy the album. The fun font also adds a younger them throughout the album.

Finally the back cover of the album. The song titles are written is the same fun fonts that are featured throughout the digipak keeping the young fun vibe throughout. The back cover features yet another picture of Eliza which really amps up her artist identity as we are constantly being reminded that she is the artist and because the digipak is so fun we associate this with her and it instantly gives her a likeability factor which is good as this is her debut album.
