I think the music video 'Disco Lights' got very poor marks because the video itself was very basic and this let it down. I thought the night club and drinking idea was good and appropriate for the song but they could have made everything bigger and more complicated by adding different things in the scenes instead of people drinking. Also the effects they have added in are alright to make it look more creative but the way this group have edited it in they have made it look quite amateurish because you can tell it is not a natural shot.
To improve it more the boys could have used more background scenery and gone to different places apart from just drinking in the house. Also when they film in the night club they should have started filming that once the bass of the song had dropped.
You've got the love 22/60:
I think this music video got the marks it did because it was very boring and dull to watch. All the shots were pretty much the same and the singers had no emotions. Also the lip syncing is really out of time and it does not look professional at all, they need to have made it so it looks a lot more in time. I did not like the version of the song they have chosen the whole video made me feel bored and wanted to turn it off.
To improve it the singers needed to display emotion when they were lip syncing. The effects they used made it look really amateurish too, they could have made it much more original.
Youth 32/60:
What I like about 'Youth' is that they have used many different angle shots and focus shot. The video was filled with emotion and all the shots were clear. The thing I think that let them down was that the storyline was a bit confusing and this made the audience get confused so it would let them down. Also we kept getting shown the same shot of the tap and this got boring. The people making the music video did not listen to the song as it was becoming my dramatic and upbeat and the pace of the clip was just staying the same and most of the time dropping.
The thing this group could improve on was that is the main 'Star' singing the lyrics could show a bit more facial expressions to help the audience understand what is going on and also if they improved the storyline this would also help.
They also need to improve on showing a variety of shots and when the slap happens they needed to have made it look alto more realistic.
Do my thing 60/60:
I think 'Do my thing' got full marks in their production because they have lots of quick snappy accurate shots that are really good quality and make the video look really effective. The main singer displays lots of emotion and she stays in character throughout the song the whole time. The whole video is very colourful and all of the shots are done well, this is where there video stands out from the rest.
The video looks really professional throughout and with the dancing it also makes it look really realistic. I like the scenes where there are three or four things going on at the same time and this helps it to look better by exaggerating the quick shots too. The many costumes changes and makeup looks really good to help add the colour to the whole music video.
This music video inspired me to make lots of little shots and make my own one look as professional as possible.
